leaf salads and a wide variety of vegetables. In
the first step, salad and vegetables are cut in the
GS 10-2 cutting machine, the products are pre-pared
by hand and then placed on the infeed
belt. The line then processes the products in a
continuous, automated process - with a capacity
of 400 to 1,000 kg per hour. It consists of the
following Kronen machines:

Two washing machines GEWA 3800V Plus
with vibration discharge
Drying system K650
Crate weighing system KWS
Depending on the consistency, shape and size
of the product, processing times and speeds of
the processing line can be regulated via a touch
screen. This enables an effective, gentle and
short processing cycle. Incidentally, it is the first

line to use the K650 drying system introduced
in 2018. All Kronen machines are matched
to each other in order to fully exploit the
throughput potential of each machine and thus
maximise the overall throughput of the line.
This prevents bottlenecks or product jams in the
processing process. At the same time, operat-ing,
maintenance and repair costs are reduced
and energy-saving production is achieved. In
addition, easy cleaning and maximum hygiene
in accordance with the applicable international
standards are guaranteed.
Each line is individually adapted to the needs
of the user by Kronen, and the machines used
are accordingly variable. The crate weighing
system can, for example, be flexibly replaced or
supplemented by a packaging machine.

the line. Depending on the product,
between 1,000 and 3,000 kg per day
are processed with it seven days a week. This
is already a significant increase in output - and
the capacity of the line has not yet been fully
utilised.
But the line also has many advantages in terms
of resource usage. It is not only designed to
save space, so that as little space as possible is
used in the production area. It also guarantees
the efficient use of water. „We are very satisfied
with the line and the resulting product quality,“
says Magnus Agneborn, head of production
at Grönsakshallen. „We will be able to reduce
our water consumption by using them, even if
we are not able to give an exact quantity at the
present time“.
