scraper/weighing pans and a completely new
assembly solution. Selected partial portions are
weighed and filled into a metal pan. This in turn
is equipped with special scrapers that ensure
that the entire contents can be dosed into
a cassette. From there, the packaging is filled
with the contents on the production line.
Ready meals with sticky ingredients such as
diced vegetables, onion rings, rice, pasta, tuna
slices, mayonnaise, yogurt are thus dosed and
packaged fully automatically - processes that
previously had to be done (partly) manually.
“It‘s a technological breakthrough that pushes
the boundaries of what has previously been
possible with packaging lines and multihead
weighers. In the future, the production of many
ready meals can be fully automated,“ says
Henning Ingemann Hansen, Director of
Research and Development at Cabinplant.
A flexible, cost-effective and sustainable solu-tion
for food processors comes from Proseal
in the JBT Group universe. By offering to rent
machines for a period of just three months,
food companies can quickly and temporarily
access Proseal‘s specialized tray-sealing ma-chines
in the current pandemic situation. This
allows them to meet immediate production
needs without having to purchase new equip-ment
that may not be needed in the longer
term. “Our machine rental program offers
customers a quick and affordable solution
to keep up with this demand and maintain
production during such uncertain times,“ says
Proseal sales manager Tony Burgess.
In the portfolio: manual, semi-automatic and
fully automatic tray sealers suitable for modified
atmosphere packaging and capable of through-puts
from 6 to 240 packs per minute. The tray
sealers can seal very different types of trays
with consistent efficiency and accuracy, and
the simple mold changeover requires only short
downtimes.
Event in May in Cologne
Those who want to get an overview for them-
selves of what the present and future of packa-
ging materials might look like will have a good
opportunity to do so at the Renewable Mate-
rials Conference in Cologne, Germany, May
10 to 12, 2022. Innovative brand owners
(„brands“) are on the lookout for market-ready,
fossil-free and sustainable material solutions,
especially those that will soon reach the main-stream.
For the second time, the nova Institute
will present numerous market highlights from
the spectrum of bio- and CO2-based chemicals
and materials, as well as chemical recycling.
