For that reason, the food manu-facturer in the beginning of the year 2000 decided to convert its packaging lines to robot-suppor-ted automation. In the beginning of 2005, Schafft therefore as- signed the company robomotion to do so and so the implementa-tion started in 2006. Since then the system gains full customer satisfaction. Due to the positive experience with the robot-support so far, the management of Schafft in 2010 decided on a further modernization of an existing packaging line, which operated mechanically until then. The ob-jective was to reduce the number of customer complaints signifi- Schafft was founded in Nuremberg in 1868 by Emil Schafft and mo-ved to Ansbach in 1937. Since 1961 the company is part of the Unilever-group. In 1972 Schafft brought the mini-salami BiFi to market – with sweeping success. Only three years after the market launch the company achieved a capacity of 50 million BiFis. From then on things were thri-ving. Schafft continuously acquired new customers and today, it is the biggest supplier and producer of BiFi-salamis in Europe. Their range covers more than 13 diffe-rent salami-products.
