Vergleicht man die Angaben m it denen von 2012, so ist eine deutliche Ver-schiebung festzustellen. Die Einschätzung, dass Roboter in fünf Jahren „wichtig“ oder sogar „sehr wichtig“ sein wer-den, nahm deutlich zu. Offen-sichtlich macht sich hier be-merkbar, dass es zunehmend Unternehmen unterschiedli-cher Branchen gibt, in denen bereits viele positive Erfah-rungen mit Robotern gemacht wurden. Nachhaltigkeit und Ressourcen-Effizienz Angesichts einer aktuell immer noch dramatisch steigenden Weltbevölkerung, dem rasant zunehmenden Bedarf an ver-arbeiteten Lebensmitteln vor allem in den wirtschaftlich aufstrebenden Ländern, den abzusehenden Engpässen bei der Versorgung mit Wasser und Energie sowie den noch nicht abzusehenden Folgen der welt-weiten Klimaveränderung tritt das Thema der Ressourceneffi-zienz immer stärker in den Fo-kus verantwortlichen ökonomi-schen Handelns. Dies gilt ohne Einschränkungen auch bei der Herstellung und Lagerung so-wie dem Transport von Lebens-mitteln. Der DLG-Trendmonitor hat diesem Thema deshalb ei-nen Schwerpunkt gewidmet: Die Implementierung der The-men Nachhaltigkeit und Res-sourceneffizienz ist bei 85 % der Betriebe ein formuliertes Unternehmensziel: 60 % der Firmen haben einen Verant-wortlichen für diesen Bereich benannt und 75 % sogar kon-krete Ziele formuliert. Da Maß-nahmen zur Nachhaltigkeit und Ressourceneffizienz nicht ausschließlich technischer Na-tur sind, sondern vielmehr auch das Verständnis und die engagierte Mitwirkung der Mit-arbeiter erfordern, finden die Themen bereits in gut 55 % der Unternehmen konkrete Be-rücksichtigung in der betrieblichen Aus- und Weiterbildung. 48,3 % der Betriebe gaben an, ein umfassendes Wassermanagement zu besitzen. Vor allem in den Bereichen Fleisch/ Ge-flügel, Milch/ Milchprodukte/ Käse, Alkoholfreie Getränke sowie Obst/ Gemüse/ Kartof-feln ist ein solches System zu finden. In über 80 % der Un-ternehmen, die über ein Was-sermanagement verfügen, sind auch Wasserkreisläufe reali-siert. Schwerpunkte bezüglich spezieller Branchen konnten dabei nicht festgestellt werden. Der „water foot print“ spielt bisher nur in 16,4 % der Be-tended investments to the tune of millions, is the same as the survey results of 3 years ago. Most investments are to be made in production (82%). In contrast, investments in pa-ckaging and food safety are planned substantially more ra-rely, and bringing up the rear is storage. This also corresponds with the results of the DLG trend monitor 2012. In terms of the nature of the intended investments, those relating to capacity expansion occupy the top spot, followed by those re-lating to increasing efficiency. Three years ago this was the other way round. As in 2013 place 3 is taken up by replace-ment investments. In one third of the responses investments in further automation were na-med. Three years ago there were no questions about invest-ments in innovations, but this year they were answered posi-tively in around 45% of cases. In connection with the question about investments in further automation, opinions were also requested as to what impor-tance will be attached to robots in the relevant company in the next five years. Comparing the replies with those from 2012, a clear shift can be seen. The view that in five years robots will be „important“ or even „very important“ has become considerably more widespread. Evidently it is noticeable that there is an increasing number of enterprises in various sectors which have had positive experiences with robots. Environmental protection As an introduction to the topic it was asked what relevance will be attached to environmental protection in enterprises in the food and drink industry in the next five years. Almost 87% of those asked considered en-vironmental protection to be “important“ or “very impor-tant“ – a result that is practi-cally identical to the result of the DLG Trend Monitor of three years ago. This shows that the topic is firmly established in the sector and is taken into account in planning and investment. In connection with this, measures to reduce food losses in the next five years will also play an im-portant role for the companies. Implementation of the topics of sustainability and resource efficiency is a formulated com-pany goal in the case of 85% of the enterprises: 60% have ap-pointed representative for this and 75% have even formulated specific targets.
